LICENSE COMMITTEE

The License Committee is designated by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in construction machinery and technologies to administer the First Class and the Second Class Construction Equipment and Technologies License Examinations as set forth in Article 27 of the Construction Industry Law. The examinations cover six categories: Type I (tractors), Type II (excavators), Type III (motor graders), Type IV (compacting equipment), Type V (road paving equipment) and Type VI (equipment for foundation work).

Those who have passed these examinations are granted the qualifications and privileges as follows:

By the application for issue of a license certificate, they may receive their license certifications (First/Second Class Construction Equipment and Technologies Engineer License) from the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
By the application for the permission of a General Construction Business Operator, he or she can, in both of the first and second-class licenses, have the qualification to be appointed as regular chief engineer at each branch office.
By the application for the permission of a Special Construction Business Operator, he or she can have the qualification to be appointed as regular chief engineer at each branch office. This privilege is limited to the First Class License only.
The Special Construction Business Operator (civil engineering and road paving) is obliged to post an administrative engineer at the sites of public works (needing a certificate as administrative engineer for designated construction businesses). Those who have passed the examination of this category (First Class only) are entitled to such qualifications.
The Industrial Safety and Health Law requires attendance at technical workshops. Those who have passed the examinations may be entitled to being exempted from all or part of the mandatory workshops.
